Ingredients
- 8 pork sausages, not Italian
- 2lbs Yukon gold potatoes
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 4 Tbsp unsalted butter
- 3/4 to 1 cup hot milk
- 1 batch onion gravy
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
- Peel and cut potatoes into roughly equal chunks.
- Put potatoes, salt, and water into pot and bring to boil. Reduce to a simmer until tender (10-20min depending on number of potatoes and size of chunks).
- Place sausages in a baking pan with a little oil and roast for 10min on each side or until browned.
- Drain potatoes and mash while hot.
- Stir in butter. Add hot milk gradually, allowing it to absorb into the potatoes before adding more. Add just enough milk to make it a pleasant texture.
- Season with salt and pepper.
- Heap potatoes on plate, position sausages on top, and smother in onion gravy!
